Shouts No Comments »

As a result of the financial situation in Iceland, many attractive opportunities are presenting themselves and conditions for investors are highly favourable at this time. Because of the favorable exchange rate investors with foreigh currencies have far more purchasing power. In the last 12 months property prices in Iceland have gone down by 21% because of the crisis. There is a need for foreign currency and many interesting opportunities have surfaced because of bankruptcies. Land prices have plummeted and availability of prime sites at lower prices have increased. Prices in the construction industry have fallen increasing competition and bidding wars in the construction and service sectors.

In spite of all this, future prospects are good in the medium term, the International Monetary Fund and other financial institutions are predicting a full recovery within a number of years. If you have been waiting for a good investment opportunity to come you way then Property investment in Iceland will give you fantastic returns.

Buying a property in Iceland involves dealing with compexities and local idiosyncracies and you need a uniquely qualified local agency to handle. You need to contact an agency which has experience in handling transactions in an international context and which can act on behalf of overseas clients to make the whole process smooth, understandable and reliable. It is essential that their core business is estate agency and advisory in property purchases, and that they have experience in setting up property companies and holding companies, and related activities. They have to be legally qualified and chartered for handling sales of commercial and domestic property, ships and automobiles. They should be able to handle all or part of the purchase or sale of real estate.

How to Make a Profit in Event Management

Shouts No Comments »

Most concert halls, arts centres, and arenas etc , will hire out their concert hall for special events. You, the up and coming Events Manager could easily arrange for a POPULAR or NICHE act to appear some months ahead. There may be an act or popular group that have strong links with your community, that way you will have a head start in your concert promotion efforts and you will be familiar with your marketplace.

To recoup the cost of hiring the venue and paying the staff and the artist, you will of course have a given amount of seats and you will price the seats accordingly. Your obvious goal is to make a a lot of money and you must not fail. Presuming you’ve done some research and you have secured the services of a great act you can get down to the business of promotion. But first we must find some way of managing ticket sales.

Well I dont know exactly what cut booking agents take when they sell your tickets but if you have a month or two in advance you can easily manage all this your self with some concert seat reservation software for your website. That way you can plug the website into your network and with some clever marketing you can watch your venue gradually fill up and even automate the process online.

For instance you will invite your community to reserve their seats themselves, they can actually choose where they want to sit and whats more you will capture their email, address and telephone numbers into your online reservation system for future marketing opportunities. You dont have to take immediate payment using an expensive online payment system, but you will be able to contact them by email and phone to arrange payment in other ways.

You could save money by allowing your customers to accept e-tickets in their email and you wont have to spend a fortune sending seat tickets in the post. Customers can print from a PDF or email receipt and you can even go as far as checking with a barcode reader at the venue.

You have time to use word of mouth, community newspaper, local and national advertising to guarantee a sold out performance and you can monitor everything from the comfort of your own home.

Now if you are successful with your concert promotion and the show is a fine success?….what a great achievement and most probably a handsome profit if you got your sums right. Now you have a a huge database to work with onselling other products and services and ready for your next special event. Well done.

Obedience Training for your Dog

Shouts No Comments »

Obedience training is one of the most important aspects of having a dog.  When I say training I mean more than just house training your puppy. In fact, if you love your dog and you love being a dog owner, both you and your dog will be happier, easier to live with and get along with, and even safer than if you fail to train your dog.

A well-trained dog is a pleasure to own.  A well-trained dog requires fewer restrictions and a well-trained dog does not create embarrassment and will always reflect well upon his or her owner.

Just to cite a few examples, a well trained dog will not frighten or annoy the visitors to your home with excessive barking, inappropriate jumping or other annoying habits.  Also, a dog that is leash-trained and will heel nicely at his owner’s side and will do a sit command without hesitation is much more welcome in a public place among other people and pets than a rowdy and out-of-control.  The bottom line is that the more reliable and trustworthy your dog is, the more of a pleasure he is to own.  Also, a well-trained dog receives much more positive attention and interaction from other people, be they family members, friends or even people you have never met before.  Nobody enjoys an unruly and ill-mannered dog but a well-trained and obedient dog can melt many hearts.

You are your dog’s leader.  You are the alpha dog.  It is your responsibility to turn your puppy into a well-mannered adult dog.  Training also strengthens the bond between a dog and his or her owner.  It builds mutual respect, communication, understanding and makes it clear to your do that you are the leader of the pack, or what is commonly referred to as the “alpha dog”, if your dog does not respect you as the leader, both of you will encounter problems, especially if your dog is a bit more high strung and rowdy by nature.

A well-trained dog that responds quickly and efficiently to voice commands is also a much safer dog.  Imagine if your dog slipped out of his collar in the middle of a busy intersection, if you can safely heel him back across the street and then have him sit and put his collar back on, many tragedies could be avoided.  Also, if the gate is inadvertently left open and your dog leaves the yard, if he is trained to follow your commands you can quickly bring him back home, saving you time, energy and frustration.

Many of the dogs that end up in shelters do so because of a lack of training by their owners.  It is the owner’s responsibility to train the dog to conform to the family’s rules and to be a good “dog citizen”.  A well-trained dog is also easier to adopt into another family, thereby saving the dog from an untimely end.  Far fewer dogs would end up in shelters if the owners took obedience training seriously. A well-loved and well-trained dog is a pleasure to own.  A rowdy and out of control dog is a hardship to own but it is not the dog who is responsible for that.  It is always the owner.

A well-behaved and properly trained dog is a pleasure to own.  Your dog will be able to go anywhere and do anything without being a nuisance or annoyance to you or to others.

I’ve Got Some Nice Summer Travel Suggestions

Shouts No Comments »

As we watch our vacation budgets carefully, a question that arises is “Where’s a great destination with lots of variety?”  One strong possibility for your summer travel plans is Southern California.  It’s got the beaches, theme parks, roller coasters, Hollywood and lots more.

Another possibility would be Hawaii.  It’s hard to beat the beautiful warm ocean water, but it does not offer as much overall variety as Southern California.  You might want to read this article by the SoCal Vacation Guru, where California and Hawaii are compared.  The beaches in SoCal do not have as many rock outcroppings and the sun is less intense (as is the humidity).  The water temperature is higher in the Aloha state, but in the middle of summer, the cooler water can be more refreshing.

Of course, the vegetation in Hawaii is often magnificent and the local culture adds much to the experience.  On the other hand, there are many different cultures to be experienced in California.

The beach is not the only attraction in Southern California.  There are a half-dozen major theme parks to be visited.  If you are a fan of roller coasters, you really need to visit Knott’s Berry Farm and Six Flags Magic Mountain.  Both offer many coasters and other thrill rides.  Disneyland has a few attractions that would be considered thrill rides, but not nearly as many as those other two parks.

You won’t find many roller coasters in Hawaii, although surfing on the North Shore of Oahu in winter would qualify as a thrill ride.  California is probably a more budget-friendly summer travel option—but now and then you really do need to get over to Hawaii.

Will Your Outdoor Lighting Be Security Lighting Or Accent Lighting

Shouts No Comments »

Outdoor lighting really has two main purposes. The first and most important purpose is security and the second purpose is for design accent. When choosing which outdoor lighting and outdoor lighting fixtures work best for you, make sure that you take these two things into consideration before purchasing. Here are a few things to consider before you purchase security lighting or lighting that will help with the overall landscaping decor.

As far as security is concerned, you want to make sure that when it gets dark that your security lighting will light as much of your property as possible. Always check the effectiveness of your security lighting after hours when it gets dark. Once the lights are installed you want to check each and every section of the outside of your house to make sure that there are no areas where would be thieves can hide. Make sure you measure your path before buying pathway lighting. A type of security lighting that will accent your other outside lights is a motion light. These are types of lighting that will turn on when objects enter into the motion sensors path. A good design is to have these lights in the front and the back of the house. The down side of having these types of lights installed is that if they are too sensitive, any object or animal will set them off.

Another type of lighting is outdoor accent lighting. This type of lighting usually will accent landscaping or the actual house itself. One type of lighting that works well is outdoor path lighting. Many solar path lights are made from light metals. This type of lighting is present anywhere there might be a path outside. Outdoor path lighting is a wonderful accent for the property and really goes over well for outside get togethers on the patio.

If you like outdoor path lighting, then you will love up lighting. Up lighting does pretty much exactly what the name says it does. It shines the light in an upwards direction. Will your solar path lighting be security or accent lighting. The key is to place your up lighting next to some object so that the lighting will accent the object. Many homeowners use up lighting next to objects such as trees, bushes and their homes. It really goes over well when you are driving down a street and you see a house with up lighting on it. It is absolutely beautiful.

If you are in the market for some outdoor lighting, make sure that you shop around and know before hand what type of lighting you are in need of. Some people have adequate lighting around their homes already and they just need some accent lighting to show things off. Some don’t have adequate lighting and should really spring for security lighting first and foremost. Whatever lighting you may need outside, there are plenty of places to choose from.

The Role Of The Insurance Intermediary in South Africa

Shouts No Comments »

Car insurance remains, for many, a ‘grudge purchase’, and difficult economic times have resulted in this sentiment becoming increasingly entrenched amongst South African consumers. Attitudes towards short term insurance intermediaries have, furthermore, not always been positive, with many questioning the value these advisors add.

Prevailing economic conditions have brought the affordability of insurance cover into question for many South Africans. The reduction in disposable income currently being experienced by many households has resulted in consumers deeming their insurance premiums unaffordable and either cancelling their policies or defaulting on payments.

Financial advisors and insurance intermediaries are fully aware of the need to gather all relevant information in terms of the client’s personal and financial circumstances. Working within the financial parameters applicable to each client is something that professional intermediaries are trained to do. Advising clients on affordability is therefore an important aspect of the service offering they provide.

Insurance products purchased directly from insurers, although perceived as both convenient and cost-effective due to the absence of a ‘middle man’, do not always offer comprehensive information in terms of product options and policy structures. A consumer’s ability to make informed insurance purchase decisions is therefore hampered to some extent when buying ‘direct’. Critical information, such as hidden costs in terms of excesses, insured amounts and exclusions (excess charges on a claim, for example, may cost more than an entire year’s insurance premiums) is often not shared.

Another important, and often money-saving, benefit associated with obtaining professional help is that of the support provided in the event of a claim. Intermediaries act as an invaluable ‘go-between’ during the claims process.

It is, however, important that consumers utilise the services of professional financial and insurance intermediaries. The Financial Services Board (FSB) has introduced a number of pre-requisites aimed at ensuring the soundness of the financial services industry in the public interest. These include being suitably qualified, having exemplary records in terms of credit-worthiness and ethical conduct, as well as sufficient operational capacity to provide clients with a professional service. It is therefore important that associated services are derived from FSB registered suppliers.

An affiliation with professional bodies such as the Financial Intermediaries Association (FIA) is also advisable as these institutions are committed to maintaining professionalism within the financial and intermediary sectors.

My Mini Dell Experience

Shouts No Comments »

That’s the experience with the Inspiron 910 Mini not the mini-experience! Well I am in web design and have been toying with the idea of getting a more portable laptop as my old Dell Inspiron from 2003 is as heavy as a brick. My step dad just bought a top of the range Toshiba Portege at around £1,200, but he’s at that time in life where 1,200 quid is affordable, where as I’m still in financial recovery from my last divorce (yes there was more than one!)! So I happened across the Dell Inspiron 910 Mini on the Dell website whilst looking at specs of normal laptops to use when out and about demonstrating our CMS system to potential clients, wow £299 inc VAT and delivery that is a bargain!

There I was credit card at the ready, wrist twitching, hang on I thought, why am I buying this, do I really need it? No, I don’t NEED it I just HAVE TO HAVE ONE . [Puts credit card away]

The next day I happen to have to work on my step Dads’ ultra lightweight new laptop, wow this is lush, so light, I wish I could afford one.

The next day I had to go to a clients with my laptop, and about put my back out trying to put it in the car passenger foot well whilst sitting in the drivers’ seat, hmm decided I do have a NEED for the new dell Inspiron mini after all! It only weights around 1kg. So as I had a management meeting that afternoon I informed my finance manager I would be ordering one and that was that. So Friday October 3rd I placed the order on the Dell website, and on the 8th I got back from a client meeting at B-Loony the UK’s largest supplier of balloons to find a Dell cardboard box on my desk, I thought it couldn’t possibly be the new mini as the confirmation email I got said it would arrive on or around the 20th October, but sure enough it really had arrived.

Well I was ecstatic and got it out and started setting it up straight away, you know remove Dell Support Centre and install Avast Anti Virus, that kind of thing. As it has an integrated web cam I also downloaded Windows Live Messenger and had a quick video chat with my girlfriend whilst she was doing her ironing, fantastic!

So I googled ‘mobile broadband suppliers’ and toyed with ordering the USB dongle from Three, as their 5GB monthly allowance is only 15 quid a month so the best looking deal, providing those coverage stories you hear about Three Mobile are not really true!

Anyway, it was soon time to go and get my daughter from school so I thought yeah I’ll take it with me and even though I don’t have the mobile broadband dongle yet I can continue configuring it in car park if I’m early. I was early, so I turned it on, it said:

Windows could not start because of an error in the software.
Please report this problem as :
load needed DLLs for kernel.
Please contact your support person to report this problem

As we say in England “Computer says no…”

Ah dear, it was great fun whilst it lasted, then followed a 2 and a half hour telethon with Dell support in India :-) Apparently they were so quick to ship it to me that my service tag isn’t on their system yet. They suggested I called back in 24-48 hours, well I told them exactly what I thought of their suggestion as I’m sure you can image, but to no avail. I did indeed have to call back today and they have agreed to send me a replacement unit as it is within 7 days of delivery.

I hope the replacement arrives as quickly as the original unit did…

So conclusion? Apart from the fact it doesn’t work (a faulty drive in my opinion) and for the life of me I can’t get it to boot from an external drive or USB key (it doesn’t have a CD or DVD drive you know) it feels really solid, looks lovely, and is nice to handle (sounds a bit like the ideal companion to an i-phone 2.0 doesn’t it!).

Like most reviewers have stated , the keys are small (but blackberry users manage and they are larger than those keys) and the right shift key is tiny and means you can’t type an @ in the usual fashion and I wonder how it’s going to cope with all the complicated keyboard stuff I have to do whilst running my web design company when I’m out on the road. The screen is nice though, 3 USB slots, a monitor connector, Ethernet and earphones and mic connectors although it has both speakers and mic internally so you can video conference and both speak and listen through the inbuilt hardware without having to plug anything in.

On the whole, I would recommend it, providing you get one that isn’t broken ! I am also yet to try it with LogMeIn which is my preferred way of dealing with how to access emails, lots of passwords, specialist software and all that kind of thing when you are out and about. Possibly the screen is going to be too small to be able to work with for extended periods of time, but I’ll let you know when the replacement arrives and I have had chance to give it a proper testing, assuming that one doesn’t break on me as soon as I start urm ‘configuring’ it!

What is the benefit of infrared sauna therapy?

Shouts No Comments »

When you buy a home infrared sauna, you can choose either an indoor or outdoor model. You should make a decision on the model before you shop and buy. The models for indoors /outdoors vary, so make that decision before you are ready to purchase. I would suggest if you re in doubt regarding indoors or outdoors, look at the different models and what is required to install both and the footprint both types of models would require. Just knowing the difference between the two might help make up your mind for how you want to enjoy your new corner sauna . Indoor sauna has their merits as do the outdoor models.

Your decision will be important since the construction of an indoor home infrared sauna is different from an outdoor model. The indoor sauna model is designed more with the exterior finish in mind to blend in with the appointments in the room where the sauna will be used. The outdoor model will provide stronger construction to provide the necessary longevity to withstand the outdoor elements. Consider an outdoor home infrared sauna has a roof to prevent water from leaking inside the sauna during rains. Outdoor saunas construction for the outdoors will have reinforced joints to withstand heavy wind and driving rains. The inside construction, likewise, is heavily protected against any leaks to protect the electrical installation.

After all your considerations of what you want from your new sauna and how you want to enjoy it, you have finally decided on the outdoor model sauna, make sure that it is fully certified for safety and quality standards. Another very important consideration for the outdoor sauna model, selecting an area that is somewhat elevated where there is no possibility of flooding during some unexpected storms. If your yard area is an area that continually floods during heavy rains, then you will have to construct a base or foundation support to raise the sauna off the ground… This will prevent water from reaching your outdoor sauna. Unlike in an indoor infrared sauna that has a more simple installation with just a simple plug into a 110 outlet, the outdoor sauna will require a profession electrician for the proper power outlet installation so you can enjoy your new outdoor infrared sauna with peace of mind that it has been installed properly.

I would advise, however, that if you have ample space in your home to buy an indoor type of infrared home sauna. No matter what Mother Nature might bring to your area you won’t loose one day of use do to the weather, or just not having the desire to walk outside in the rain or snow or blizzard to get to your sauna.

Find online golf lessons that fits you

Shouts No Comments »

Get your own golf swing plan that will help you focus and pinpoint your problem areas and lower your handicap. The best investment you could probably make would be to get a online golf lesson from a good golf professional. The sooner people get professional instruction the better their golf will be, simply because they won’t need to relearn the correct techniques to replace bad habits. Golf is all about fine tuning and making small improvements that compound over the course of a round to sometimes quite dramatically reduce your score and handicap.

Imagine the benefit of becoming more proficient with the use of your putter where it helps to save a shot every few holes. At the end of the round, that could be the difference between a score in the 80’s and dropping into the 70’s.Imagine knowing that should you get in the rough you will be able to chip out and set yourself up for a better approach. Having the confidence to play from anywhere on the course will also make the game more enjoyable and this only comes from experience and good pro golf instruction online.

There is no faster way to gain experience than through the help of golf lessons on line from a professional. They will be able to determine the flaw’s in your game and swing and correct any errors in your swing that you wouldn’t be able to target on your own. You might be only be a fraction of an inch away from setting your balls up in the right position or your hand placement on the club might be slightly ill placed to get the correct movement.

A well-trained golfer will do more with a poor set of golf clubs than an inexperienced player with the best clubs in the world. It is wise to get some good golf lessons first and then you might just find that you will be ready for a better set of clubs as your experience has risen to the next level. Golf lessons are a very wise investment if you intend to play for any length of time.

Should You Concentrate Rather Than Diversify Your Portfolio

Shouts No Comments »

Daily news reports are coming out informing us something that is evident just by looking at all of the businesses closing in your neighborhood, the economy is in dire straits. Even as the safest investments prove to be not so safe, there are some ways to improve your bottom line.

Businesses report that earnings are down and morale is low. Consumer confidence is low as well. Because the credit market is tight, businesses are not borrowing as much to invest, expand, or fund new projects. This all affects the bottom line. With that said, times are not good right now. However, it is hard to call an actual bottom on the market, so we don’t know for sure if it will go lower.

How can I increase my income, so I can invest in the stock market?

As an investor you are taking a much greater risk, saving is a stage on the road to investing. You cannot be an investor without being a saver but you can be a saver without being an investor. Investing is what you do with the savings you have created if you are looking to generate a return on your money that is greater than what is already available to you through your savings instruments.

Are you tired of losing money in the stock market?

Millions of people have lost billions and trillions of dollars and are watching their hard earned money taxi down the runway. But putting your money under your mattress is still not the best investment in these volatile times.

The economy the stock market and the dollar are on a steady decline. It’s not a surprise that many people are scared to invest their money in the stock market right now with the wild volatility it has been showing over the past year.

With the current Obama administration, one way to start investing now is to start investing in green technology. Now may be the time to concentrate rather than diversify your portfolio. Solar cell and wind power companies would be some possibilities. Although we are facing the worst economy since the Great Depression, it is clear that in the next five years you will see more money being invested in green technology which will result in positive results for companies in this industry.

Kitchen Apron

Shouts No Comments »

How many parents have witnessed their children gleefully making lots of curious treasures for mum and dad. In fact, many children bring home items such as these which they made at school. One thing that all of these children have in common is the fact that most of them will be wearing a kitchen apron at the same time!

A child’s apron is incredibly useful for children’s activities, particularly as most of these types of pursuits are very messy! An apron that is the best for children, is one that will pull over the head and then tie it to their back. There are also the types which go over the head and have a back and a front and do up at the sides, even better as you end up covering more of the child.

kids cooking aprons are available in a wide variety of fabrics and styles. One of the cheapest ways is to make your own. Making an apron is among the simplest sewing jobs possible; you can come up with a one-of-a-kind project and customize it for your youngster. Cute designs for children’s aprons can include their own actual hand prints or their name or even their favorite nursery rhyme or Disney character. You do not need to be the artist, most craft shops sell transfers or prints that you can apply to the finished apron to give it that personal ‘touch’.

You’re little sweet pea will have days that he/she wants to be of help to you in the kitchen. This is If you really need an Apron! It appears as if the entire kitchen may require an apron! Seriously though, sometimes it is just nice to be like mum in those circumstances and put their vintage inspired apron on to do the cooking.

A great area for boys or girls these days seeing as most good chefs on the TV are men! Just make sure that your little boy has something like a picture of ‘Shrek’ on his apron and your little girl may prefer just about anything as long as it is ‘girly’. Make sure you have a child apron handy the next time your little one decides to make a mess.

The wrong autoresponder email marketing can collapse your business

Shouts No Comments »

The wrong autoresponder email marketing can collapse your business, not build it.

A lot has been said about email marketing as an excellent tool for web marketing but few have been said about its pitfalls. If you plan to use auto responders as a booster for your online sales effort, you should pay particular attention to how your information is delivered to the readers. Basically, you should be concerned about the format in which the information is carried over.

In this article, we try to look at some of the much overlooked points that are a recipe for an email marketing campaign disaster.

Text format

When it comes to text on the internet, there are principally two main types that you can use in your email auto responders as part of your email marketing plain text like the one we see in notepad and html, the commonly used format on the web. Plain text normally contains no formatting but html text has formatting, variable background and can contain graphics.

Now let’s look at the reasons behind your choosing one or the other.

If you are reaching a simple readership without the need for extensive formatting and illustrations in your materials, then the best way to go is plain text for your email marketing. This style of text is easy to read ( as it has a white background) and loads easily because there are no graphics.

However, if you need to put links in your email marketing auto responders that readers will click on, then a problem emerges. People usually associate long links with affiliates. Even if you own the product being offered for sale, many people will shrug at the idea of clicking on a link because they know you are trying to hide behind an ezine or article to sell them a product.

Can resveratrol supplements help us live a hundred years?

Shouts No Comments »

The story grape seeds began with the taste of the French for dark vino. It appeared that because they boozed more dark vino, they had less from heart disease and other age-related conditions that plagued different countries. Finally, the advantageous compound in grape wine was found: the anti-oxidant, resveratrol. Today, you can have very high measures of resveratrol without drinking grape wine at all - by taking Resveratrol Supplements.

Resveratrol can be bought quickly and handily on the web, yet, anyone under 50 should sit up and take notice: Resveratrol Supplements aren’t advantageous only for fighting age-related diseases - they help improve wellness at any age.

The first thing that resveratrol does to better wellness whether one is fifty, forty, thirty, or even 20 is better resistance. Young people can also produce generally age-related, non-communicable terms like heart diseases, but there are decent numbers of communicable diseases they can get, as well. In fact, in that respect are certain sicknesses induced by bacteria and viruses that a younger person in the workplace would be even more predisposed to than an experienced, retired individual at house.

Taking Resveratrol Supplements is not only great at any age, even a younger age, for improved immunity, but for better activity and sleep, too. Younger adults who have a difficult time waking up in the morning to start the everyday grind should particularly be interested to learn about the effects of resveratrol on enhanced vigour levels during the day and improved quality of sleep at night. One can actually feel better-rested with less hr of rest when taking resveratrol.

One closing, contributed benefit of resveratrol that can be appreciated by young and older alike is its aid in losing weight. Whether a teen mom is trying to lose the last ten pounds of maternity weight gain, or a middle-aged mother is seeking to shed the stubborn stomach bulge that has hassled him for years, resveratrol could assist.

It appears that the health-improving superpowers of the antioxidant composite in Resveratrol Supplements, which individuals of any age can gain from, are integrated. Antioxidants help prevent disease by supercharging the immune system. A healthier body and healthier immune system leads to both high vigor in the day and more relaxing sleep at nighttime. Higher vigor leads to more physical activity, followed by raised metabolism and weight loss.
